No. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged. No prior experience is required for ATV or snowmobile tours. In fact, most of our guests have never ridden a snowmobile or ATV before coming out with us. We provide all the gear you'll need to stay safe and comfortable while on the tour. Your dedicated guide will provide you with an orientation, safety briefing, and riding instructions before the tour and will check in with you throughout the tour as you build your skills. Your guide will pace the tour to match your skill and comfort level.

We provide all the gear you'll need to stay safe and warm on the snowmobile. We provide helmets, goggles, and balaclavas (head/neck warmer), as well as winter boots, winter bib overalls, and riding gloves and mittens. Our snowmobiles also have heated handlebar grips to help keep your hands warm while operating the machine. Please bring your winter coat or parka, and dress in layers appropriate for outdoor winter activities.

We provide all the gear you'll need to stay safe and comfortable on the ATV. We provide helmets, goggles or glasses, neck gaiters, and rain gear. If you have your own rain gear please bring it with you, or you can borrow ours. Please bring and wear closed-toe shoes which are required to ride. Boots are even better, bring them if you have them, as parts of the trail can be wet or muddy in places.

Fairbanks sits directly under the aurora oval making it one of the best places to see the Aurora in North America. The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis are visible in the Fairbanks area between late August and mid-April. The best months to combine winter activities and aurora viewing are between mid-November and late March, with February and March widely considered the best months.

Bears hibernate during the winter months and therefore we will not encounter them while snowmachining. In the summer months, bears are active in Interior Alaska including the Fairbanks North Star Borough. We do carry bear deterrents on all tours. However, it is unlikely that we will encounter a bear while on an ATV tour as the machines make noise, which will alert animals in the general area, enabling them to avoid us. Rest assured, our guides are trained professionals who know how to operate in bear country and how to act if there is an encounter.

We operate single-driver ATVs on our ATV tours. All participants (drivers) need to be a minimum of 16 years old and have a valid driver's license. Drivers under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

To drive a snowmobile, you need to be a minimum of 16 years old and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A driver's license is not required to drive a snowmobile, but you must provide a state issued ID or passport. Children under 16 (minimum age of 6 and up) can ride as a passenger. Adult passengers are allowed too (max of 350 lbs per snowmobile).

Yes. We offer transportation including pick-up and drop-off service to all hotels within the city of Fairbanks. Transportation can be added to your booking at checkout. The trailhead is around a 45-minute drive from the city center. We handle the logistics so you can focus on having fun!

Nothing! In Alaska, snowmobiles are called snowmachines. Alaskans call it a snow “machine” because it serves as an essential tool for winter travel and survival. You might also hear it referred to as a sled or a snogo (snow-go) which are common, local slang terms.

Both! In winter, we run snowmobile tours between November 15 and March 31, with three tour options offered daily and nightly throughout the season. In summer, we run the Creeks to Peaks ATV tour between June 1 and August 31, with daily departures at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm every day of the season.
